Finding a mate is one of our most important jobs. And this job has never been an easy one. In most cases, finding Mr. and Ms. Right spends us time and efforts. Plus, it has become even more difficult than ever before that the hustle life in modern society doesn’t allow us to spend much time looking for boy/girlfriends. As a result, we start to put our eyes on the Internet and hope that its efficiency and convenience can help us to find someone worth dating. Yet, meeting people in real life is still the most common way and it does have some advantages compared to online dating. Both online dating and real-life relationship have their own advantages and drawbacks. The following paragraphs are going to provide some basic discussions.
Compared to meeting people in real life, it is rather easy for shy people to greet others online. You don’t have to stop a person and come up with some reasons to talk to him/her. It is easy to search for someone on internet. What you have to do is sending a sticker and waiting for the responses. You don’t have to worry about being awkward and embarrassed while greeting them. They don’t really know who you are, and you totally have enough time to think up of proper responses. This feature of online dating becomes extremely useful when you are likely to be too nervous to behave well in front of your dream lovers. Online dating gives you the chance to meet people you don’t dare to talk to in real life and allows you to show the best part of yourself to whomever you talk to.
However, if you rely on online dating, you may fail to impress others when you eventually come to real-life dating. Striking up with strangers in real life may embarrass you, but it is also the best way to improve your communication skills. And it is very important to read people’s faces, which you can’t learn from chatting online. Actually online dating is nothing more than a process before we decide to meet someone we date on internet in real life, and building real-life relationship is what we actually look for. So it will really embarrass you if you acted like a funny and kind guy on internet yet become shy and awkward in real life.
What’s more? People can fake themselves easily online. They can talk like they are so nice and adjust their photos. These behaviors are going to mislead you and make you believe he/she is your true love. It would be so romantic if you really accept that person after meeting him/her face-to-face. Nonetheless, in most situations like that, people only block the fakers and consider the whole process of online dating a waste of time. The similar circumstances can be easily prevented in real life because people cannot change their outlooks and tones easily. For that reason, people sometimes get disappointed after they figure out those who they were dating to online are far from their original imaginations.
Both online dating and real life relationship have advantages and drawbacks. Therefore it is hard to decide which the better way is. As a result, it is suggested that we don’t rely on one side too much. Online dating is convenient, immediate and efficient, but making friends in real life will improve your communication skills. However, they are both important when you want to meet the one you like. Saying hello is easy enough for everyone to do. If you can’t do that, try it again online. And someday you will be able to do so in real life. Just remember don’t believe everything on internet, get him/her out once the time is ripe, and see if he/she is really your type.
